Thanks! For any given commission, I use multiple references by picking and choosing the aspects that I need from each of them. I'd love to get to the point where I can render lighting by making it up, but I'm not there yet.
Cool References are fine, I personally don't think of it as a shortcoming or anything. All the time I see even veteran artists of many different mediums resort to poseable dummies, models, photos, other artworks... Both for inspiration and for reference.
I don't know how that sounds. I'm making little sense and inadvertently offending people lately. I meant that in a good way
You made perfect sense. I like to think that we've gotten to the point where we trust each other enough to not get offended unless something like "you suck" or "I hate you" is thrown out there. And I'm pretty sure that's not going to come up.
Ooh, I see a smidge of Brittany Spears in there, but not overly much. Very nice piece. Abby is one of my favorite characters in the series and you did a very lovely job on her. She has a very ethereal look to her. Nice work.
Thanks, man. I've tried doing paintings before that show more brushstrokes but I always come back to the "smooth" style that I'm most comfortable with. Some people like it, some people don't.
I completely understand what you mean about Abby vs. Cassandra. I always do my best when completing a commission piece, but it's true that every one of them is still a learning experience for me. Thanks for the feedback!
