Was it done on gray stationary and you highlighted the eyes, or was there some photoshop post there?

Thanks! I touched it up in PS, but the original is on grey cardstock. For fun, I tried using a white-pen-thing (I think it was an old gel pen?) on the eyes. Not sure how I feel about it.

Looks neat

I really do like that technique, working on a gray base and building up volumes applying shadows and highlights. Though I'm useless at it
